JACK BUTLAND showed a touch of class after reaching out to an 11-year-old kid who went rival for practising his goalkeeping in the back garden amid the coronavirus lockdown. 

The England and Stoke City keeper FaceTimed Nathan with some pointers after a video of him took the internet by storm last week.

Nathan’s mum Sarah posted a video on Twitter last week showing her only child finding unique ways to practise his goalkeeping during the coronavirus lockdown.

After seeing the inspiring training routine Butland retweeted the video and wrote: “Brilliant idea! They say you’ve got to be crazy to be a keeper but sometimes you have to be clever as well.”

In a SPORTbible video the Stoke stopper can be seen giving the stunned Irish kid a goalkeeping tutorial and advice for the future.

Butland said: “It was inspiring for me and I’m sure a lot of people to see that you in these difficult times that you’ve kept yourself busy and working on stuff.

“Certainly us keepers were very impressed, very proud of it.

“It’s really inspiring for me, I’m going to get a workout in myself now and I’ll be thinking of you buddy.

Butland was keen to learn where the young Leeds fan had picked up the unique drill, Nathan said: “I was trying to improve my passing so I was pinging it off the wall.

“And I was thinking about how to improve my shot stopping as well.”

The youngster aims to one day make it as the main man between the posts at Leeds and dreams of winning the Premier League.

The video of the youngster has been retweeted by United’s David de Gea and goalkeeping legend Peter Schmeichel.

Watford stopper Ben Foster has even offered out lessons to Nathan and AC Milan keeper Azmir Begovic sent out a pair of signed gloves.

To top the lot Leed’s Illan Meslier did a shout out to Nathan on Twitter, calling for the youngster to come and practise with him when the coronavirus crisis is over.
