And Football Insider claim Jose Mourinho is ready to pounce for the Dutch international should the South Coast club fail to beat the drop.
Ake would provide an ideal replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who is expected to leave when his contract expires next summer.
And Spurs believe they could land him for a cut-price fee if Bournemouth go down.
The defender also counts as a homegrown player having left Feyenoord for Chelsea at 16.
Mourinho was in charge at Stamford Bridge after Ake moved to West London from his homeland.
However, he has spoken previously of his frustration at being demoted to the reserves under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
After loan spells at Reading, Watford and Bournemouth he eventually made the move to the South Coast permanent in 2017 for £20m.
But Spurs would likely face some serious competition to secure his signature.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is believed to be a huge fan of the star and was linked with a move for him last month.
The Blues reportedly also have a £40m buy-back option on Ake, which could put them in pole position ahead of their rivals.
