TOTTENHAM are leading Newcastle in the race for Josh King after holding talks with the Bournemouth striker.
Spurs have ramped up their interest by speaking with his agent last week, according to talkSPORT’s transfer guru Alex Crook.

Newcastle haven’t yet sat down with the 28-year-old or his representatives but are said to still be “in the race”, according to Chronicle.live.
Spurs are looking for a striker to fill in for Harry Kane in case he is struck down by injury again this season.
Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has said one of his main priorities this summer is to sign a forward, and with a tight-budget to work with, King seems to fit the bill.
He has scored 50 times in 170 games since joining the Cherries on a free from Blackburn in 2015.
The Norway international, who has 17 goals for his country, has become a target for several Premier League clubs following Bournemouth’s relegation.
Manchester United were keen on bringing back King, who started his career at Old Trafford.
But they had a £20million bid rejected by Bournemouth, who are said to be holding out for at least a £25million for their star striker.
King would prefer to stay in the Premier League but could yet find himself playing Champions League football on the Continent after PSG showed an interest in him.
Former Spurs frontman Darren Bent has expressed his enthusiasm at the possibility of King joining his old club and believes he can potentially challenge Kane for his spot in the first-team.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Bent said: “I think if he is happy to go to Spurs and to fight Kane for that number one spot then well played to him. He is good enough.”
Spurs kick off their Premier League campaign by hosting Everton on Sunday 13 September.
