ARSENAL star Thomas Partey’s dad took a swipe at Chelsea and Juventus by claiming his son was waiting for a ‘bigger team’ to come in amid their transfer interest.
The former Atletico ace joined Mikel Arteta’s side in a £45million move on transfer deadline day.

Ghana star Partey, 27, was of huge interest to a number of European heavyweights, with Frank Lampard’s side and their Serie A rivals able to offer him Champions League football.
But now it appears North London was Partey’s first choice after all, even though they have to make do with the Europa League this season.
Discussing interest from other sides, Thomas’ dad Jacob told My Joy Online: “We actually weren’t disturbed by anything because we hoped a bigger team will come for Partey.
“We were aware of the [other teams interested]: Juventus, Chelsea and so forth.
“All through this we knew God was with us. From that minute we started to dance to ‘Party after Party’.”
Some social media users were sceptical of Jacob’s words though.
One tweeted: “Waiting for the biggest wage offer, has absolutely no interest in anything else or he would not have chosen to be playing Europa League.”
A fellow user said: “Arsenal a bigger club? Maybe the win nothing club. They’re one of the hugest in that regard.”
While another disagreed, saying: “Of course Arsenal is bigger.”
Midfielder Partey is expected to walk into the Arsenal starting XI and is set to make his debut this weekend against Manchester City.
And his dad – much like former boss Avram Grant – reckons he can spearhead the Gunners’ challenge to make the top four this season.
Jacob added: “What I [noticed] was that he was willing to play where there is Champions League [football] but [I suggested to him that] can’t he be where there is no Champions League and help them get into the Champions League?”
Arsenal fans are buzzing at the prospect of Partey lighting up their options in the middle of the park.
And now more than ever after watching his amazing assist in Ghana’s 5-1 win over Qatar.
