PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have become the first club to splash the cash amid the coronavirus crisis after they forked out £54million to complete the permanent signing of Mauro Icardi.
The Argentine ace penned a four-year deal with Les Parisiens after impressing the Ligue 1 club during his loan spell from Inter Milan.
Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba could follow Mauro Icardi’s suit and join a new team this summer
It was initially thought that clubs would be conservative with their money after taking a financial hit during the Covid-19 pandemic, but PSG have shown teams may still be willing to break the bank for a marquee signing.
Here SunSport looks at nine deals that could top Icardi’s £54m switch.
JADON SANCHO
The £100m-rated Borussia Dortmund star has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, with BVB’s assistant manager claiming speculation regarding his future has left the winger unsettled.
Edin Terzic said: “He’s a young player and is one of our most important players. I have to say that, the transfer speculations are affecting him.
“We have to support him in a positive way. I want all of our players to be happy.”
PAUL POGBA
In order to fund a move for Sancho, the Red Devils could offload Paul Pogba, who only has one year left on his deal at Old Trafford.
United are keen to recoup the majority of the £89m they paid for him in 2016, and the player could head back to Juventus with his agent Mino Raiola reportedly in talks with the Old Lady.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO
The Brazilian playmaker looks set to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, with London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be battling for his signature.
It has been reported that Barca are looking to flog him for £90m, though he could leave the Nou Camp for as little as £71m.
OUSMANE DEMBELE
Another player that Barca are looking to get off their wage bill is French winger Dembele, with the club seeking £70m for the forward.
Potential suitors have been put off by that demand, with it now understood the Gunners target is available for £53m.
ERLING HAALAND
Despite only joining Dortmund in January, the Norwegian striker has already been linked with a £67m move away in the summer, with Juventus and Real Madrid keen.
His former Red Bull Salzburg boss has urged Liverpool to snap him after stating he would thrive under Jurgen Klopp.

KAI HAVERTZ
The Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder has established himself as one of the most promising talents in Europe.
And he could be heading to the Premier League with both Manchester City and United keen on landing the £70m-rated starlet.
LAUTARO MARTINEZ
Barca are believed to have identified the Inter striker as the successor to Luis Suarez, with the Serie A side’s sporting director recently confirming he will only be allowed to leave should his £100m release clause be met.
Piero Ausilio said: “The reality of the situation with Martinez is that there’s only one path to take him away from Inter and that is to pay the release clause.
“It’s a clause everyone knows about, there’s no point hiding. It is a difficult clause because it has certain deadlines and some very precise demands.”
KALIDOU KOULIBALY
The Napoli centre-back could be on his way out of Italy after six years with Manchester United linked with a £80m move for the defender.
Paris-Saint Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all pulled out of the running to sign the player, leaving the Red Devils in pole position to land him.
LEROY SANE
The Citizens winger could be heading back to Germany with Bayern Munich remaining desperate to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
SunSport revealed in April how the Bundesliga giants are willing to hand over £61m in order to land the speedy winger who has just one year left on his deal at the Etihad.
