Solskjaer asks Man Utd Wags to help train their other halves by whipping in crosses during coronavirus self-isolation

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has issued a rallying cry to the Wags of his Red Devils stars – to help keep his players in tip-top shape.

The 47-year-old had finally appeared to push his team into gear, prior to the suspension of the Premier League.

United had been unbeaten in their last 11 games, winning eight of them – and Solskjaer will be desperate not to lose that momentum, should the league resume after April 30.

And the Norwegian has called on an unlikely source to help keep his players’ football instincts sharp.

He told the club’s official website, with a grin: “The players have got individual programmes, so this period could be used to work on something special, something specific for them.

“I’ve been in the garden, with the kids, working on finishing and the strikers should be working on finishing or their movement.

“Most of the players have got good facilities and decent gardens so, hopefully, their wives and girlfriends will be able to put some passes and crosses in.

“I’m in the garden, of course, as we’ve had time with the kids now.

“So I have to keep on top of it, you know.“

Solskjaer will be hoping that Melanie Martial possesses a mean through ball, for hubby Anthony to practice his finishing.

While perhaps Maja Nilsson can keep centre-back Victor Lindelof on his toes when contesting for balls in the air.

Maybe pop star Edurne Garcia can even fire shots at boyfriend David de Gea.

And if Maria Zulay can get crocked star Paul Pogba back kicking a ball at all she’ll have done well.
