Sheffield United plan Aaron Ramsdale transfer with Dean Henderson set for Man Utd return

SHEFFIELD UNITED are plotting to bring back Aaron Ramsdale to fill the void left by Dean Henderson.

Henderson is due to return to parent club Manchester United where he will hope to dislodge David De Gea after two excellent seasons on loan at Bramall Lane.

Chris Wilder is eyeing a move for Blades old-boy Ramsdale as a replacement following his relegation to the Championship with Bournemouth.

Wilder sold Ramsdale to the Cherries three years ago for around £1million.

But after establishing himself as Eddie Howe’s No1 this term, United would expect to pay around fifteen times that to re-sign the Stoke-on-Trent lad.

Ramsdale, 22, was one of the shining lights in Bournemouth’s dismal season.

CHERRIES MUST OFFLOAD

The ex-Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon loanee put in consistently impressive displays across the season, making the third highest number of saves in the Premier League.

He also captained the England Under-21s in their November defeat to Holland in Arnhem.

Bournemouth need to sell players following their drop to the Championship to make up for the financial shortfall.

Nathan Ake is interesting Manchester City while Josh King and Callum Wilson are likely to leave.

Holland centre-back Ake, 25, was previously been linked with his old club Chelsea.

But City seem the frontrunners now, reportedly hoping the Cherries will lower their £40million valuation.

Pep Guardiola could offload Argentina ace Nicolas Otamendi, with fellow defender John Stones alos facing an uncertain future.

Ally McCoist says Manchester United have a ‘big decision to make’ regarding David De Gea with Dean Henderson ‘playing particularly well at Sheffield United’
