REPUBLIC OF IRELAND boss Mick McCarthy has warned teenage ace Troy Parrott his Euro 2020 dreams are over unless he gets a regular run in the Tottenham team.
Jose Mourinho refused to send the striker, 18, out on loan in January in order for him to fulfill home-grown player qualification status.

Parrott came on as Tottenham crashed out of the FA Cup at home to Norwich – the striker even missed a penalty in the shootout.
But his lack of playing time concerns McCarthy, who gave the youngster his only cap in November’s friendly win over New Zealand.
McCarthy said: “Jose is one of the best managers that’s been around for a long, long time and he doesn’t want to play him, that’s his choice.
“It would suit me if he did but Jose’s his own man. He picks his own players. I never pick anyone else’s team.”
The Republic face Slovakia in this month’s Euro 2020 play-off semi-final before a potential game against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park which could earn their place at the summer’s finals and the prospect of two group games in Dublin.
McCarthy added: “It absolutely affects his chances if he is not playing.
“He’s had five minutes as a sub. That will really get him ready for the Slovakia game, won’t it?
“It would have benefited Spurs long term if he had gone out on loan and I’m sure he is ready for that.
“But again, that’s not my decisions to make. It’s somebody else’s.
“It would have benefited Troy but it just didn’t work out.”
