Real Madrid hierarchy ‘unhappy’ with Zidane over handling of James Rodriguez after flying start to Everton career

REAL MADRID’S top brass are reportedly ‘upset’ with Zinedine Zidane following James Rodriguez’s stunning start at Everton.

The Colombian attacker, 29, was deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and was allowed to join the Toffees this summer.

He has enjoyed a blistering start to life in England, scoring three in his first five games, to help Everton go top of the Premier League.

And that form has allegedly annoyed his former employers.

Spanish news outlet AS claims Madrid’s hierarchy however have ‘shown their disappointment’ towards boss Zidane over his handling of the South American.

Rodriguez was not the only star to be discarded by the French legend in the Spanish capital.

Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon and Dani Ceballos all left the Bernabeu for the Premier League.

Rodriguez only featured eight times under Zidane in La Liga last term before his departure.

After previously playing under Carlo Ancelotti at both Madrid and Bayern Munich, the playmaker looks to be blossoming again on Merseyside under his old mentor.

Everton sit in top spot after their opening five matches.

They maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-2 draw against neighbours and reigning champions Liverpool on Saturday.

Rodriguez provided the assist for Michael Keane’s first half header for the Toffees.

That takes his tally up to three assists so far as he and his teammates prepare to travel to Southampton this weekend.
