PEP GUARDIOLA will wait to see if Manchester City’s board and players still believe in him before signing a new contract.
The Spanish chief, 48, is under contract until the end of the 2020-21 season – with reports suggesting he could leave at the end of the current term.

But Guardiola, who earns £20million a year at the Etihad, will at least see out his existing contract – and could stay on longer if he’s backed by the board.
Despite winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cup crowns, Guardiola is worried the club won’t match his ambition.
After edging Liverpool to the Premier League title by a single point last season, City are currently 14 points adrift of the Reds – who have a game in hand – this time around.
In November, Guardiola said: “When you are [somewhere for] five years it depends on the results. We will see what happens this season and next season.”
But a source told The Telegraph there is “no chance” Guardiola will leave this summer.
The former Barcelona boss is plotting a fairly large summer overhaul of his squad.
David Silva will leave in the summer, but could easily be replaced by bright star Phil Foden in the heart of City’s midfield.
The likes of Riyad Mahrez are showing improvements too.
Brendan Rodgers is now the third best paid manager in the league… behind only Guardiola and Mourinho
But Guardiola’s biggest concern is his defence, which has been exposed on more than one occasion this season in the absence of star man Aymeric Laporte.
Veteran midfielder Fernandinho has filled in at centre-back on a number of occasions, while John Stones has mostly been left on the bench.
Should Guardiola be given the money to pursue another star defender, it could be just the convincing he needs to stay at the Etihad.
