FENERBAHCE are reportedly “working on a transfer” for Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
That is according to a close friend of the midfielder who thinks the Turkish giants would be “favourites” to sign the 31-year-old.

Ozil has a contract until the summer of 20121 at the Emirates, where he earns £350,000-a-week.
His salary has put paid to any move away in recent years, despite the player often falling out of favour.
He has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce for years, even reportedly telling his mother that he would play for them one day.
And now, in an interview with SportX as reported by Sport Witness, Ozil’s next move could take him to Turkey.
ONE YEAR LEFT
His friend, TV host and big Fenerbahce fan Acun Ilicali said: “I receive lots of questions about Mesut Ozil.
“I believe in the future the good things will happen. I’m not in a position to give details but I know our president is also working hard for this.
“When his contract with Arsenal will expire, the favourites would be Fenerbahce. We are also working on that front.
“I really wanted to tell you in more detail, but I cannot. We’ll talk about these things when the time comes.”
But it might not until his contract has expired that will see Ozil depart the Emirates.
ESPN say that the 2014 World Cup winner was told last summer he could leave the club due to a falling out with ex-boss Unai Emery.
But Ozil, 31, rediscovered his form under Mikel Arteta and started all 10 Premier League games he was in charge.
Success on the pitch has not led to renewed faith off it, however, and club chiefs have not opened talks over a contract extension.
Like many other clubs, they will be mulling over what financial state the club will be in in the future as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
