EXILED superstar Mesut Ozil admits it’s a ‘difficult time for everyone’ at Arsenal – but promised he would never join big rivals Tottenham.
The ‘frustrated’ midfielder, 32, insists he is itching to return for the Gunners, despite reports of secret talks over moving to Fenerbahce.

And as 15th-placed Arsenal prepare to host Chelsea on Boxing Day evening, Ozil spoke out on being sidelined since March amid the Gunners’ worst ever start to a Premier League season.
The 92-cap ex-Germany playmaker tweeted: “It’s a very difficult time for everyone around the club – not just for me.
“The situation is frustrating for everyone.
“Of course I would wish I could help the team especially right now, but as long as I don’t get the chance I just hope that we get better results very soon again.”
And Ozil underlined to fans where his loyalties lie by posting a clip of Spiderman flipping through “NO” answers, above the words: #Askmesut would you leave Arsenal for Tottenham Hotspur if there’s Chance.”
He has again been linked with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, with claims varying between a loan exit in January and a permanent move in the summer.
But some pundits are pressing for Mikel Arteta to reinstall his experience and invention to the Arsenal squad next month, despite doubts over his consistency.
And if Ozil did switch to Fenerbahce he would reportedly need to take a huge pay cut from £350,000 a week to £200k.
Murat Zorlu, a club congress member for the Super Lig side, told Sport Digitale earlier this month: “A source, who’s very well connected to the club told me Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.
“I would say 90 per cent he will join us in one month.”
But Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp is among those urging Arteta to recall Ozil.
The former Liverpool, Spurs and England midfielder said last week: “There are so many problems right now with this team, it’s hard to put your finger on which one is worst.
“He’s got another problem now, with people saying, ‘Should you bring Mesut Ozil back in?’. For me, of course you have to.
“It’s a no-brainer — you are not creating chances. Does the manager look weak bringing him back in? Some might say yes. Not for me.
“If you were creating chances and losing games I’d say of course you don’t get him back.

“But you need someone who’s going to spot a pass for the likes of Aubameyang.
“I think Arteta tried to make a statement by not naming Ozil in his original squad. But sometimes you have to take it on the chin.
“Just use him while you’ve got him. Being in the position they’re in without turning to Ozil, it doesn’t make sense to me.”
