It had been claimed that Les Parisiens terminated the contract of the ex-Sampdoria star after his wife Wanda Nara told the club he wants to return to Italy once the season finally ends.
But according to Calciomercato, Icardi is still contracted to PSG, though they state that his future remains unclear.
PSG still have the option of permanently signing him for £61million, with it reported that a decision has to be made by May.
However they claim that Icardi and his partner are ready to say goodbye to the Ligue 1 side, where the two will discuss who he will be playing for next campaign.
The Italian news outlet claims that Real Madrid are keen to land the player, while Juventus are also interested in snapping him up.

And there have also been claims that Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan are in the race to secure his signature, with the club “dreaming” of signing him.
Icardi and his family are currently back in Italy despite the coronavirus crisis, with Wanda Nara’s ex-husband Maxi Lopez slamming the couple.
Speaking on his Instagram story, the 35-year-old who plays for Serie B side Crotone said: “I would like to know under what criteria you broke the quarantine during a global pandemic.
“The whole world has asked you not to leave and you exposed our kids to a trip to another country.
“You moved to the epicentre of the contagion in Italy without even caring about the consequence??”
Lopez – who has three children with Nara – added: “What is wrong with your head in these moments?
“The most sacred thing in the world right now is the health of our kids? I am outraged by you lack of awareness.
“If you can’t do it for yourselves, do it for them. Today you are the mother of five babies but it seems you don’t realise it.”
