Marcus Rashford in positive mood and insists he will be back for Man Utd before end of season to ‘help them claim top 4’

MARCUS RASHFORD has insisted he will be back on the pitch for Manchester United before this season is over in a bid to help them claim a top-four spot.

The England striker, 22, faces the possibility of missing this summer’s Euros with a stress fracture in his lower back.

Rashford has struggled with injuries throughout the past few months, but has valiantly battled through them.

However, after coming off the bench in the FA Cup third-round replay against Wolves, the Three Lions forward lasted just 15 minutes before going down clutching his back following a heavy collision.

Reports quickly suggested Rashford could miss the rest of this season – and this summer’s festivities.

But Rashford has provided a positive update, suggesting he will easily be fit by the summer – and wants to help the club in their run in later this season.

Earlier this week, Rashford tweeted: “On the pitch or not, @ManUtd fans don’t get much bigger than me.

“You best believe I’ll be involved in team meetings, team huddles and team sessions throughout this recovery.”

He quickly followed that up by writing: “Blink and I’ll be back, fitter than ever. See you soon.”

On Tuesday, he continued: “Thnx for all your messages. Been reading them and the support means a lot.

“Time to rest and recover now.”

And now, he’s taken to Twitter to add: “Thanks guys, I’ll be back before the season ends to hopefully help my team claim top 4.”

Rashford had been a rare shining light in what has been a murky season for Man Utd.

The England ace has scored 19 goals in all competitions, but United still sit six points adrift of the top four in the Premier League – and 30 points behind leaders, and fierce rivals, Liverpool.

With 15 games still to play, Rashford will hoping to be back for at least a portion of the run-in, with the final game of the season scheduled for May 17, with United travelling to Leicester.
