NOT A RASH DECISION
PICK OF THE BUNCH
Ole Gunnar Solskjær shuffled his starting XI this evening and was asked about several players that were gifted a start.
Speaking of Mason Greenwood’s goal, Solskjær said: “I’m not surprised. He’s so efficient in front of goal, he’s a great finisher- I was pleased with the timing of his run and the pass from Paul.”
On Van de Beek’s performance, the Manchester United boss said: “He’s a fantastic player, you should see the work he puts down both on and off the ball.
“He covers the ground and is so clever with his movement. I’m really pleased.
“We’ve made some changes today, as we have to be ready for Sunday’s game as the season is so relentless.”
BOSS SPEAKS
Speaking after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjær was asked about Marcus Rashford’s incredible performance.
The Manchester United boss said: “He came on, did well. You want that from the subs, but it’s only possible when the others have laid the groundwork- what a shift they’ve put in as Leipzig do make you work.
“We had to dig deep and work hard for each other; spaces open up when you’re winning and we knew we could rest a few today, as the season is relentless.
“This group is coming together; of course we’ve added some quality players, of course the more quality and spirit you have, the better the performance.”
WHAT A GUY
Despite having the opportunity to get a hattrick, Rashford stepped aside to allow Martial to take the penalty this evening.
Martial calmly slotted it into the back of the net, before Rashford went and got his hattrick to make it five goals for United .
UNITED FRONT
Manchester United legend Gary Neville was very happy with what he saw from United this evening…
MARC HIS WORDS
Marcus Rashford has had a flying start to the season.
From nine appearances, he’s bagged seven goals and two assists, across all competitions.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Speaking after the game, Marcus Rashford said: “I think the manager wanted me to up the tempo when I came on and we did that.
“There was definitely spaces there and today we found the spaces; we got Bruno and Paul on the ball and had Anthony running forward.
“I think it was a real team performance; the ones that started did well and the ones that came on did too. As a squad we can’t ask for much more than that in terms of attitude and intensity.”
When asked to comment on Mason Greenwood scoring with his first Champions League shot, Rashford laughed and said: ” It’s not surprising, he’s an outstanding player.
“He just needs to keep his head down and he can do amazing things.”
HATTRICK HERO
Safe to say it doesn’t take Rashford long to do good!
The forward only needed 16 minutes to score three goals.
All after another busy week of standing up for children across the country.
TWO FOR YOU
Here’s Rashford’s second goal.
Safe to say Solskjaer is a happy chappy!
SUPER SUB
Rashford’s boss earned the nickname super-sub, thanks to his antics for United.
Now the young Mancunian has joined him in the club’s record book..

87. The ball is in the back of the net again- this time courtesy of Cavani, but the flag is up.
Although, as with two decisions thus far… we’ll have to wait and see what VAR says.
87. Extremely selfless from Rashford, who could be on a hattrick as he allows Martial to take the pen.
A firm penalty is fired low into the bottom left-corner of the goal, although it did look as though Gulacsi got a touch to it.

82. Rashford is a star both on and off the pitch – he’s been untouchable since he came on.
He’s just been on another solo run, making a mockery of four white shirts; he danced between the first two on the edge of the area, before faking a shot, he raced towards the centre of the box but his shot was eventually blocked.
