Man Utd transfer target Paulo Dybala in talks with Juventus to extend contract for ‘many years’

JUVENTUS say Manchester United target Paulo Dybala is negotiating a new contract as they want the Argentina striker to stay “many years”.

Just days after the 26-year-old reportedly tested positive for coronavirus for the fourth time in six weeks, the Italian champs seemingly quashed talk he could be part of swap deal for United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The ex-Palermo star reportedly wants to become a Juve legend like former Italy frontman Alessandro Del Piero, having reviving his fortunes this season before the Covid-19 pandemic halted football.

The Serie A leaders’ sporting director Fabio Paratici told Sky Sport Italia: “We’re working to extend Paulo Dybala’s contract.

“We want him as part of Juventus for many years.”

Dybala has notched 13 goals and 12 assists in 34 games this campaign after his Juve career appeared in the balance last summer, with United and Spurs both interested.

The 29-cap ace has emerged as a key partner for Cristiano Ronaldo, rather than an understudy, under ex-Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

And now talks over a new long deal are continuing his dramatic season as he recovers from coronavirus.

Along with club-mates Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi, Dybala was one of the first Serie A players diagnosed with the respiratory disease.

He confirmed to his 37.9million Instagram followers on March 21 he and girlfriend Oriana Sabatini had caught the virus.

The couple also showed a TikTok dance together, days after welcoming pet dog Kaia to the family.

In all, Dybala has amassed 91 goals and 36 assists in 216 matches since joining Juve for £35million five years ago.
