Man Utd transfer target Erling Haaland reveals he listens to the same song before every game and loves kebab pizzas

BORUSSIA DORTMUND’S teenage sensation Erling Haaland has opened up on the secrets to his success, from meditation and Norwegian rap – to eating kebab pizzas.

The 19-year-old has had an astonishing season, having scored 28 goals in 22 matches for former club RB Salzburg before sealing his £18million mid-season move to BVB.

That was quickly made to look like a bargain, as he broke record after record in his first two months in the Bundesliga.

Initially it was the first player in the league to score a debut hat-trick from the bench, then to score five in his first two matches, then eight in five and nine in six.

The Leeds-born Norway international has defied all expectations in becoming arguably the most sought-after striker in the world this season.

The coronavirus-enforced suspension of football was seemingly all that could have stopped his flow of goals, and amid the break from football, he opened up on what makes him tick off the pitch.

He told Borussia Dortmund TV: “I train a lot, and I meditate a lot.

“Before a game, I like listening to music from the Norwegian rapper Amara. And before every match I listen to a song called ‘Keep Dreaming’.

“That’s the song I listen to before every game.”

When I’m not playing, I like to play FIFA with my boys. My favourite food is kebab pizza.

Haaland even paid homage to his meditation as he celebrated scoring against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in February, sitting down and imitating his relaxing stance.

While he is almost super-human on the pitch, it’s remarkable to hear what a normal 19-year-old lad he seems off it.

He continued: “When I’m not playing, I like to play FIFA with my boys. My favourite food is kebab pizza.”

His exploits have seen him linked with a number of Europe’s biggest names, despite only joining BVB a few months ago.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are in the frame but for now, Haaland seems very happy just where he is.

He gushed over their support: “It gives you goosebumps. To watch the wall and to see all these people – it’s amazing.

“It’s one of the best feelings of my whole life, to be honest.

“When this happens it’s amazing. I cannot describe it.”

Fans will be hoping to see Haaland and Co back in action soon, as the Bundesliga targets an ambitious May 9 return.

German clubs have been back in training since April 6, albeit having to follow strict guidelines.
