Man Utd transfer blow with Dortmund ‘totally relaxed’ over Jadon Sancho and insists he will see out contract until 2022

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told by Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc that Jadon Sancho will be staying at the club until at least 2022.

The England international, 20, has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League at the end of the season with the Red Devils understood to be in pole position to secure his services.

Sancho was sold by Manchester City to BVB in 2017 for £8million, with the player since becoming one of the world’s best wingers.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic halting football across the world, the forward had chipped in with 17 goals and 19 assists in 35 games in all competitions.

But despite the rumours linking the player with a switch to Old Trafford, it has also been speculated that Dortmund are confident he will sign a new deal at Signal Iduna Park.

And Zorc has echoed these claims in an interview with German news outlet Sport1 where he insisted the club are “totally relaxed” about the situation.

He said: “We have a long-term contract with Jadon Sancho (until 2022).

“Nothing will change about that now. We are totally relaxed about it.”

Before adding: “I understand the inquiries, but these whole topics are currently not the top priority. The dominant questions that concern us at the moment are rather: How does it go on? When do we play again?

“It is of paramount importance for all of us to be able to end the season. Especially against the background that the concept of the league is viewed positively by many experts.”

Along with United, Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Sancho with Frank Lampard understood to be a huge fan of the player.

But it is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that are in the driving seat to land him, with the club prepared to sell Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard in order to raise funds to sign him.
