Man Utd lit up the NHS United portion of their Old Trafford sign on Wednesday – and on Thursday they will turn the ground blue
And now they are set to turn the stadium blue, the colour of local rivals Man City, in further tribute to the NHS.
The colour change will match up perfectly with the latest ‘Clap For Carers’ event at 8pm.
Man Utd have been working hard to help NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
The club have offered up their facilities at Old Trafford to help those in need, while also sending a 16-strong fleet of their foundation’s vehicles to deliver gifts and health supplies to local hospitals.
The stadium could also be opened up as a blood donation centre – while Gary Neville’s Hotel Football is offering free accommodation to NHS staff.
Defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka also donated 20,000 gloves to DR Congo in a bid to help them survive the outbreak.
Fans have been loving United’s work throughout the coronavirus pandemic, with Wednesday night’s sign change no different.
Man Utd tweeted a picture of the stadium, captioned: “You can’t have Manchester without the NHS. #StayHomeSaveLives #ProtectTheNHS #ClapForOurCarers #AlwaysUnited”.
And club legend Neville led the praise, as he tweeted, “Well done @ManUtd”, followed by a heart emoji.

And other users got in on the praise too, with one writing: “So proud to support Manchester United!!!!
“Haven’t furloughed any staff, doing a lot for the local community and giving the National Health Service the praise they deserve, more than a football club…”
Another said: “I support a class club and I’m damn proud of it.”
A third added: “What a picture and what a gesture!!!!”
