BRUNO FERNANDES saw red at the end of Sporting’s clash last night – but it had nothing to do with Manchester United.
The Old Trafford transfer target appeared incensed near the end of his current side’s 2-1 defeat at Braga.
Fernandes also argued with a cop
Fernandes snubbed fans as he left the pitch, appeared to argue with a policeman and shoved a camera as he made his way down the tunnel.
This was all in stark contrast to the kissing gesture he made to Sporting supporters just under a fortnight ago.
Then, his move to United looked all but done.
Now, huge doubts remain after the two sides hit a wall over bonus payments, the amount due up front and an “unusual” clause in his contract that Old Trafford transfer chiefs are unwilling to pay.
It all seemed to come to a head last night following Sporting’s defeat in the semi-final of the Taca da Liga.
Ugly scenes marred the end of the game following Paulinho’s 90th minute winner.
Three players were sent off – including two for Sporting – and that looked to tip 25-year-old midfielder Fernandes over the edge.
However, reports claim United are hopeful they can reach a £55million deal for the star by the end of the week.
It is thought Sporting have come to a compromise on the amount due up front versus what will come in bonuses.
United were previously thought to be angry at super-agent Jorge Mendes, who wanted in on the deal despite not representing Fernandes.
