Galbraith, 19, was one of eight academy graduates to make their United debuts last season.
And now having committed his future, the young Northern Irishman is looking to push on.
Galbraith has made one first-team appearance to date, coming on as a late substitute in United’s 2-1 defeat to Astana in last season’s Europa League.
He has also made his senior international debut, being brought on by former boss Michael O’Neill in a 1-0 friendly victory over Luxembourg at Windsor Park.
Galbraith joined United as a 16-year-old from Linfield in 2017.
The midfielder has swiftly progressed through the ranks at Carrington.
He now turns out for the Under-23 side, scoring a 97th minute penalty to secure a 2-1 victory over Everton in their most recent match.
Galbraith has also gained experience against seasoned professionals in the EFL Trophy.

He featured against Tranmere Rovers, Doncaster Rovers and Lincoln City in last season’s competition.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offered Galbraith a few pointers after he gave the youngster a run out against Aston Villa in a 1-0 friendly defeat last month.
The Norwegian, 47, said: “Young Ethan Galbraith has been with us in the summer, in the Europa League, he’s been training with us and then he gets minutes today and you could see he’s got less time [on the ball].
“I spoke to him after the game and he knows a couple of times he gets caught on the ball but that’s the learning he needs.
“That’s going to make him, next time he’s on the pitch, be ready for it.”
