THIS was what Manchester United can do given acres of space, loads of time and an awful defence to play against.
If they had been taking on the second string at Carrington they would have had more problems than this afternoon at Old Trafford.

United have one plan and that is to play with pace and purpose on the break.
‘The goal is that way, now run’ are the basic instructions.
And the Canaries allowed them to do just that.
Problem is, it can get a bit more complicated than this, even against the teams down the bottom, many of which United have struggled against.
Only recently they lost 2-0 away at Watford.
So it is difficult to really come to any conclusions at the end of a game like this against one of the poorest sides to have come into the Premier League in recent years.
It is no use winning plaudits for your football if you can’t win points and Norwich have got too few.
They certainly have not got enough ability to cope with Marcus Rashford when he is in this mood, or Anthony Martial or indeed Juan Mata who supplied two of the goals.
The question of course for United is can they now do this against Wolves in their FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday.
Or more importantly can they produce a performance that will once again stop Liverpool who they face at Anfield next Sunday.
Remember it is still only United who have taken points of Jurgen Klopp’s men this season.
If they can do it again, there will be more indications for Solskjaer that things are going in the right direction.
At least this was another step forward, however easily it was gained.
The problem is you will not be surprised if by Wednesday night there have been two more steps back.
