Man Utd ‘end’ James Rodriguez transfer interest leaving Arsenal and Everton to battle it out for Real Madrid star

MANCHESTER UNITED have ended their interest in Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, according to reports.

The Colombian has been on United’s radar since his sensational World Cup in 2014 but Sky Sports claim the 28-year-old is not on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist.

Rodriguez had been on loan at German giants Bayern Munich and Madrid are now considering cashing in, with Arsenal and Everton both interested.

Reports in Spain had suggested United were close to securing a deal for the Madrid star but that is now seemingly unlikely.

Rodriguez is out of contract in 2021 and is likely to be shipped out having made just 63 LaLiga appearances since moving to the Bernabeu in 2014.

This season he returned to the Spanish capital after two years on loan at Bayern Munich but has only appeared 13 times having struggled with injury.

Solskjaer has now turned his attention in securing other targets and Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is reportedly at the top of his list.

But a move for Sancho could be in danger with Dortmund preparing a new £167,000-a-week deal to stay at Signal Iduna Park.

Sancho is among the most sought-after talents in Europe and would be an automatic first choice for Manchester United on the right wing if he were to move back to England.

The United boss is preparing for a busy transfer window to boost his firepower after an injury to Marcus Rashford left them light in the forward department.

Odion Ighalo’s temporary deal could be made permanent but the club are also exploring the possibility of a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane after the England captain expressed his frustrations at Spurs.

The asking price for Kane could scupper a deal with United reluctant to splash out £200million.
