PREMIER LEAGUE clubs have been put on high alert after a trio of big-name Real Madrid stars were reportedly deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.
Boss Zinedine Zidane is keen on a summer reboot of his squad, but has been told that he must offload some of his highly-paid stars before he can recruit more.
Ex-Spurs duo Modric and Bale could be turfed out of Madrid in the summer
According to AS, this means that the likes of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez could all be on the market this summer.
This is bound to pique the interest of a number of the Premier League’s top clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Former Tottenham winger Bale was close to joining Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning last summer, before the deal was dramatically scrapped by Madrid chiefs.
The 30-year-old has since been in and out of Zidane’s side, having also sparked controversy by posing with a Wales, Golf, Madrid flag.
Bale has repeatedly been linked with the Red Devils, however, who could look to try and finally thrash out a deal for the Welshman this summer.
Bale’s team-mate Modric has long been a key cog in the Real Madrid midfield, playing an integral role in winning four Champions Leagues during his time with the club.

But at 34, the Croatian may be sacrificed to make way for younger talent – and he is bound to interest top clubs from the Premier League, including old side Spurs.
Meanwhile, James Rodriguez has struggled to reassert himself on the Real Madrid first-team following his return from a two-season loan at Bayern Munich last summer.
The Colombian has never quite been fancied by Zidane, being handed just four LaLiga starts this season.
Arsenal were reportedly interested in January, and could be joined by the likes of Chelsea, United and Everton in the race for his signature in the summer.
Real Madrid are aiming to raise a warchest to spend on Zidane’s young compatriots Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga and Rayan Cherki this summer.
They also continue to be linked with Paul Pogba – while Wolves striker Raul Jimenez could be considered as an option to ease the burden on 32-year-old Karim Benzema.
