Man Utd 4 Norwich 0: Rashford double plus goals from Martial and Greenwood eases pressure on Solskjaer

MARCUS RASHFORD celebrated two ton with two goals and United found it simply too easy.

Rashford marked his 200th game in the best possible way – although it must be said he has rarely faced such rollover opponents as the Canaries.

The United striker volleyed the opener just before the half hour and even though it took until the 50th minute to add a second, this time from the spot, the points were sealed long beforehand.

His first came when the Norwich backline went AWOL, not for the first time, and he stuck out a leg to volley Juan Mata’s delicious cross in from six yards.

The second came when Brandon Williams tumbled over Tim Krul’s rash slide to the right edge of his box, referee Anthony Taylor gave the penalty and Rashford stuck it in the corner.

United will go through far tougher training sessions than the 90 minutes they cantered through here.

And a third swiftly arrived, Anthony Martial jumping between Alex Tettey and Grant Hanley to power in a header.

That was the cue for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to haul Rashford out of the action and he was back in the dressing room before an hour was up, with the points well and truly in the bag.

In truth they were never in doubt from the moment United’s England striker dabbed them in front.

Norwich were second in every challenge, went over half an hour before they even had any serious possession in United territory and only had one shot all afternoon.

That came when they were only a goal adrift, David De Gea reacting superbly to get down and turn away Todd Cantwell’s first timer.

At the other end Martial and Williams both missed chances to add more, although Marcus Greenwood’s fizzing fourth at least gave the score a more realistic look.
