BERNARDO SILVA has joked he is already sick of being back in Manchester having only just arrived from Portugal last week.
The 25-year-old has spent the majority of quarantine back in his native country, where he was holed up with his new girlfriend Ines Tomaz.
Manchester City Bernardo Silva is back in England after being holed up in Portugal
But with the Premier League poised to resume next month, Silva flew back to England ten days ago, where he will be looking to pick up where he left off.
Prior to the Covid-19 crisis, Silva had been in fine form for the Citizens – chipping in with seven goals and eight assists in 40 games in all competitions.
Commenting on his lockdown in an interview with Portuguese news outlet Record, he let it be known where he would rather be.
He joked: “I went to Troia with some friends and it was a lot of fun. We ran, played tennis.
“Now I’ve been here in Manchester for ten days and I’m sick of it.”
MAN ALIVE
And while his comments about Manchester being made in jest, Angel Di Maria’s wife had some harsh words about the city as she labelled the people living there as “weird”.
Speaking to Spanish-language show Los Angeles de la Manana, Jorgelina Cardoso said: “One day Angel came and told me, ‘An offer came in from Manchester’.
“I said no bloody way and warned him he was going alone. He replied, ‘Yes, we are going’.
“I begged Angel, any place but England. And one year later we were in Manchester, s***.
Silva, 25, took to social media recently to announce his relationship with Ines Tomaz
“There was a lot of money and the Spanish came out to call us mercenaries. And yes, we were.
“I didn’t like anything at all. The people were all skinny, neat, weird. You are walking and you don’t know if they are going to kill you or not.
“The food is disgusting. The girls all use a lot of make up, like they are dolls.”
