Man City join rivals United in Mauricio Pochettino chase with futures of Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in doubt

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is reportedly wanted by Manchester City and neighbours United.

But The Mirror claim the 48-year-old is the most wanted man in Manchester.

City reportedly see Pochettino as an option to replace Pep Guardiola next summer.

Guardiola’s contract at the Etihad is set to expire in seven months.

City are desperate for him to agree a new deal – but are making plans in case he decides to move on.

If he does not extend to stay, City look likely to make their move for Poch.

But the former Tottenham manager is also the top candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has come under-fire in recent weeks following his side’s shaky start to the season.

They lost to Crystal Palace and narrowly beat Brighton in their opening two games.

That was before the shock 6-1 hammering by Spurs at Old Trafford that sparked a desperate deadline day shopping spree.

And club chief Ed Woodward is reportedly prepared to sack him if the poor run continues.
