And Belgian forward Origi, 25, could fit their bill when the transfer window opens.
The Daily Mail report that Wolves are among the teams monitoring developments with Origi.
The striker has found playing time hard to come by this season especially after the arrival of Diogo Jota at Anfield.
Origi has played just twice in the Premier League this campaign and made only seven appearances.
His only goal came in the 7-2 EFL Cup thrashing at Lincoln in September.
But Jurgen Klopp has faced injury problems all season with the latest being Jota ruled out for up to eight weeks.
The forward picked up a knee injury in last week’s Champions League trip to Midtjylland meaning Origi could see more playing time during a busy period.

The Reds went top of the league with a 2-1 win over Tottenham on Wednesday and face Crystal Palace on Saturday in their last game before Christmas.
Klopp’s men have West Brom, Southampton and Newcastle on the horizon before an FA Cup trip to Aston Villa in January.
Wolves, meanwhile, are short of options up front after Jimenez fractured his skull.
Fans raised £20,000 for a massive Jimenez banner at Molineux, and over £16,000 of that went to a charity of his choosing.
He tweeted: “Amazing! I am very grateful to all the people who have been supporting me during this process.
“To my fans, to my teammates, to all who have sent their love, it means everything to me and my family. Thank you very much!”
