Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani ‘in Valencia to beat Arsenal to transfer of forward Rodrigo Moreno’ for £36m

LEEDS UNITED are reportedly on the verge of beating Arsenal in the transfer chase for Valencia star Rodrigo Moreno.

The striker was believed to be valued at £50million this summer but the newly-promoted Yorkshire side have bargained his fee down to £36m.

Now Diario AS claims Leeds’ owner and chairman Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta are both in Valencia to wrap up the move.

The 29-year-old has caught the eye in LaLiga and has fired in 59 goals for the Spanish side during his six years there.

He was linked with a switch to Barcelona earlier this year before the Nou Camp outfit opted to move for Martin Braithwaite instead.

Now Rodrigo could be lining up for Leeds in the Premier League instead despite the Gunners also being keen.

Marcelo Bielsa is desperate to bolster his attack ahead of their return to the top-flight following a 16-year absence.

And it appears that the Brazil-born Spain international is the man he wants to lead his forward line.

As well as playing in a traditional No9 role, Rodrigo is equally at home playing on the wing.

Valencia have been forced to put their entire squad up for sale due to the financial difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Now those money problems could be eased if Leeds complete the deal.

Former Real Madrid youth player Rodrigo already has experience in England.

He was signed by Bolton back in 2010 but failed to shine for the Trotters during his one-year loan spell from Benfica.

The ace scored just once in 17 appearances before heading back to Portugal but after a successful loan period with Valencia, they made it a permanent arrangement in 2015.
