LAZIO have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s £54million bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports.
Le10sport report that the offer was turned down as the French club try to lure the Serbian ace as part of a summer overhaul.
PSG have had an initial bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic batted away by Lazio
The Italian side have batted away the first enquiry for their sought after midfielder, with his agent – fellow Serb and former Chelsea and PSG striker Mateja Kezman – thought to be integral to any move.
The French champions have been long-time fans of the 25-year-old who has spent the last five years in Serie A after arriving from Genk for over £16m in 2015.
Last season Lazio demanded a fee in the region of £90m for Milinkovic-Savic, but it is thought he would be allowed to leave for a figure around £63m this time round.
Milinkovic-Savic has bagged four goals and five assists in 25 league appearances from the middle of the park this season.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are believed to be willing to come up from their initial offer and a deal could yet be done with the Rome-based side.
Premier League giants Manchester United were previously linked with a move for the player but it appears PSG have stolen a march on the Red Devils.
PSG director Leonardo is planning a revolution of the French side’s squad in this transfer window.
He previously announced experienced defender Thiago Silva, 35, would leave on a free in the transfer window – putting Premier League sides, including Arsenal, on red alert.
The Brazilian chief also revealed Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani’s departure as a new era begins at the Parc des Princes.
Spanish outlet AS report PSG are also looking to offload Thomas Meunier, Layvin Kurzawa and former Stoke flop Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as they refresh their playing staff with Chelsea target and Porto left-back Alex Telles thought to be arriving.
