He remained respectful after scoring the opener but changed his tune after adding a late fourth as he wheeled away with his arms outstretched.

Mbappe, 21, told Canal +: “I did not celebrate the first goal, I was trained here and those ties must be respected.

“My celebration on the second goal? There were a few insults and we had to respond. But it was nice.”

PSG moved eight points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table with their victory yesterday.

Mbappe got the scoring going in the 24th minute as he met Angel Di Maria’s pass and fired home a low finish.

VAR took several minutes to confirm the decision despite a foul in the build-up, which was apparently missed.

Neymar added a second from the penalty spot just before the break after a controversial spot-kick was awarded for as Layvin Kurzawa collided with Monaco’s Kamil Glik.

Pablo Sarabia volleyed home in the 72nd minute before Tiemoue Bakayoko pulled one back with three minutes to play.

And Mbappe sealed victory with his 13th of the season that leaves him one behind Wissam Ben Yedder in the scoring charts.
