IT’S an epic clash of two football giants that is running into extra time with no clear sign of a winner.
As the Wagatha Christie row between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy heads for the High Court, a friend of both women today wades in with a rebuke for Mrs V.

Annie said: “I don’t blame Coleen for doing what she did.
“If someone was doing that to me, I would be exposing them in the same way.”
The pair are caught in a bitter £1million legal battle after Coleen turned detective and sensationally claimed Becky’s Instagram account was used to leak stories about her.
They are now both taking legal action against each other, and a recent last-ditch arbitration meeting held via Zoom ended without a truce.
Annie, 27, said: “I feel sorry for Coleen that she was having to watch out for friends, and I don’t blame her for wanting to air it.”
‘ONLY SHE KNOWS THE TRUTH’
Coleen has now axed her legal team as the tit-for-tat row hots up — and the costs spiral.
But Annie said: “I can’t ever see a time when they could be in the same room as each other. The friendship they had is over.
“Even if it is resolved in the High Court this will rumble on forever.”
“I’m stuck in the middle — I get on with both of them — and it’s not nice to see this play out.
“My kids are friends with Coleen’s kids and I get on with Becky so I’m literally stuck in the middle.
“If Becky was responsible for leaking stories then it’s just wrong. Only she knows the truth.

“But if she hasn’t done it I feel sorry for her.”
Annie also told how Coleen and Becky were like “chalk and cheese”.
She said: “Becky and Jamie saw themselves as the next Posh and Becks.
“Becky doesn’t air her dirty laundry but she enjoys the limelight and, as much as people judge Becky, in person she’s not like that.
“A lot of the Wags are like, ‘I can’t be friends with her,’ but I can be. I’m friends with everyone.
“Coleen is extremely private and gives away very little. She’s like a closed book and has had to be.”

Annie also revealed the secrets of the Wags at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where England reached the semi-finals for the first time since Italia 1990.
Boss Gareth Southgate allowed players to see their partners after each match, but behind the scenes the boss axed any distractions — and imposed a complete sex ban.
Annie said: “We were in a separate hotel. We’d go to matches, see them from the stands and that was it.
“There was only one day when we could visit camp. They put on a barbecue for the families.
“After an hour we were told we had to leave.
“Gareth wouldn’t allow any distractions. The team had to focus on the task in hand — and we had to be careful about what we did.
‘DIDN’T WANT TO BE IN THE LIMELIGHT’
“We also had to make sure we didn’t become a distraction.
“There were a couple of paparazzi photographs and some of the girls were like, ‘What’s going on?’
“There was a picture of all of us stood outside a restaurant, all lined up. The other Wags were worried what their other halves would say.
“The focus had to be what was happening on the pitch, not what the Wags were up to off it.
“No one had a problem with us going for a drink.
“A lot of the girls have learnt to keep themselves to themselves. They were aware news travels fast.

“We wouldn’t necessarily all be friends. We were friends because of the situation.
“You’re forced to be friends so you hold back what you want to say.”

Becky was among the last ones standing, ending the night at a Japanese restaurant at 4am.
Rebekah’s husband Leicester City striker Jamie, 33, announced his retirement from international football days later.
Hopefully he’s banked enough to foot the growing legal bills.
