JOSE MOURINHO has told Tottenham to get Son Heung-min tied down to a new long-term contract which rewards his status as a world class footballer.
Son has been ripping defences apart for the past two years and has already hit nine goals in eight appearances this season as part of the devastating partnership with Harry Kane.

And even though he still has three years to run on his current deal, Mourinho has left Daniel Levy in no doubt Spurs need to get the 28-year-old committed long-term to the club.
He said: “I would love that.
“It’s a very calm situation because Sonny has three more years of contract. But I wish, he deserves, and the club knows that.
“I believe that he would like to commit this feature to the club for more time.
“It is the club, and everybody in the club, being totally in love for this player and for this boy, and trying also to make him feel part of the furniture.
“It’s normal that the club tries to go from three to four or five or six.
“I believe that sooner or later they will, without any pressure, they will arrive into a decision.”
Son looked a class apart when he came on as sub in the Europa League win over LASK, scoring his customary goal.
And Mourinho believes it is time the South Korean gets recognition for his standing as a world star.
He added: “He cannot do more than what he does.
“Season after season after season, Sonny is showing how good he is. Of course, the better the team is, the easier it is for the players to emerge. But Sonny, everybody knows what he does.
“What does he need to do now to go to a next step? Nothing.
“Because he’s such an incredible kid also, he is at that level – it is up to you to tell how good he is.”
Spurs face Burnley on Monday looking to bounce back from the horror of conceding three late goals to let victory slip against West Ham last week.
And midfielder Harry Winks has revealed Mourinho did not say a word to his players afterwards – instead leaving them to work out what went wrong by themselves.

Winks said: “He left it for us to stew on ourselves and think about what happened.
“We can’t be conceding three goals when we’re three-nil up, it’s unacceptable and it’s not good enough especially the level we are trying to get to.
“In the dressing room afterwards it wasn’t great, everyone was unhappy, there was a lot of blaming, but it’s part of football and we move on and we’re back to being friends and being a team.”
