Jose Mourinho claims Tottenham have worst injury crisis in Europe with four first-team regulars out long-term

JOSE MOURINHO insists Tottenham have the worst injury crisis in EUROPE.

The Special One takes Spurs to his old club Chelsea tomorrow without a recognised striker.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min could miss the rest of the season, while midfielder Moussa Sissoko and defender Juan Foyth are also sidelined.

The Spurs boss said: “The situation is difficult. Nobody else in the Premier League or even in Europe is in such a difficult situation as we are in terms of injuries in specific positions.”

Mourinho’s misery is compounded by his belief Erik Lamela and Tanguy Ndombele are not fit enough to play 90 minutes.

But it is the absence of a fit striker which is causing him and Spurs the biggest headache.

He added: “If you lose four rights back you play Oliver Skipp or Sissoko there.

If you lose centre-backs you can play Eric Dier or Ben Davies there. But the specificity of the striker position makes it very difficult.

“You cannot say to Davinson Sanchez go play centre-forward. That’s the way it is.

“We have to go into game with everything we have. It worries me a lot, the fact that the situation cannot be better. It can only get worse!

“But it’s a good test of the players’ resilience and spirit and a unique experience for them.

!We go together because next season we’ll smile because we’ll be in a very different situation.”
