Javier Hernandez considering LA Galaxy transfer switch with Man Utd hero set to replace Ibrahimovic

JAVIER HERNANDEZ could move to LA Galaxy having flopped at Sevilla since his £8million switch from West Ham in the summer.

The former Manchester United striker has scored just once in La Liga and has only managed four starts for the Spanish side, leaving the door open for the MLS switch.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 38, left the Californian side in November and re-joined AC Milan on a free transfer on a six-month contract on December 27.

And Hernandez, 31, is on Galaxy’s radar to fill the void left by the big Swede, according to ESPN.

The Mexican is said to be considering the move despite having only been in Spain since September.

But after Ibrahimovic bagged a staggering 53 goals in 58 appearances during his time in the US, the decision to sign goal shy Hernandez could backfire for the franchise.

Despite scoring 59 goals from 157 games for United between 2010 and 2015, his form in recent years has left many wondering if he has too much left to offer at the highest level.

Hernandez managed just 16 goals from 55 games for West Ham and was generally considered a disappointment by most of the East Londoners’ fanbase after the initial excitement that surrounded his move from Bayer Levurkusen in the summer of 2017.

The MLS season kicks off at the end of February so a move away from Spain could suit both parties.

Galaxy have a habit of signing big name players at the end of their careers having had David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole on their books in the past.
