MANCHESTER UNITED haven’t ruled out signing superstar Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports.
And supporters believe a deal is closer than ever after United’s No2 Mike Phelan dropped a subtle hint on social media.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant manager started following the Borussia Dortmund ace on Instagram further fuelling speculation that negotiations are ongoing.
One optimistic fan commented: “Micky Phelan following Sancho on Insta is better than an announcement video for me. Welcome to the theatre Jadon”
Another added: “Michael Christopher Phelan following Jadon Sancho on Insta? Get the beers in, it’s endgame.”
It comes off the back of comments from Sky Sports transfer expert Dharmesh Sheth claiming the club are still working hard behind the scenes to conclude a deal.
Talk of a £108million switch has gone quiet in recent weeks after Dortmund announced United had missed the boat on his signature.
The German club revealed the Premier League giants had an August 10 deadline – before they returned to pre-season training.
But the market remains open until October 5 and Sheth believes United are still locked in talks with Sancho and his agent.
He said: “I don’t think Man United feel that it is final. They are still negotiating with Sancho’s representatives about personal terms and agent fees.

“Once they have done that, they will go to Dortmund with a bid and hopefully see him agitate for a move to United.
“As far as Man United are concerned, he remains the No 1 target – they do want to bring Jadon Sancho to the club – I don’t think that it is completely dead.”
Club legend Gary Neville believes “desperate” United are wasting time by dragging out the deal.
He said: “Like everyone else they had three months off because of coronavirus, so I don’t think it should be the case they didn’t have the resource or time to get things done.
“Chelsea got their business done, [Manchester] City have got three or four pieces done. I don’t think timing’s the issue.
“It’s just a thing with United that every time they go for a player in the last four, five, six years it feels they are a little bit desperate.
“They think they can hang on but they always pay it [the asking price] in the end.
“That’s sometimes where I think you can take control, give a hard deadline and say ‘we’re moving away from this deal’.”
