Jack Wilshere in yet more injury woe as West Ham star struggles with pelvic problem after being out for three months

JACK WILSHERE is struggling to shake off an injury to his pelvis as he faces a frustrating wait to play first-team football again.

The midfielder, 28, has not played 90 minutes of football since August 2018 — ironically a 3-1 defeat at the hands of his former club Arsenal.

And he has not seen any game time in the Premier League since October, when West Ham lost 2-0 at Everton, which was his fifth appearance in a row.

According to the Mail, Wilshere is frustrated at his lack of progress back to the first team, but wants to be careful not to exacerbate his hip issues by jumping the gun.

He is expected to miss the next three to four weeks after having scans on the troublesome area.

Wilshere missed seven months of last season with the same pelvic issue, the latest in a long line of injuries that have blighted his career.

His switch to West Ham was seen as a fresh start for the playmaking midfielder, but it has been setback after setback.

He is roughly half-way through his three-year £100,000-a-week deal at the London Stadium and will be wary he needs to turn his fitness and form around if he is to earn a new contract.

Returning manager David Moyes is clearly keen to use Wilshere, but he will have to wait around another month to select the former Gunners man.

Wilshere revealed earlier in the season he had spent most of the summer working on his fitness and employed a physiotherapist to work on him away from the training ground.

West Ham face Sheffield United in the Friday night game this week as the Premier League resumes after its FA Cup break.
