GERMAN club Hannover 96 have confirmed that defender Timo Hubers has tested positive for coronavirus.
The 23-year-old is the latest footballer to be diagnosed after unnamed players for Northern Irish side Linfield and Italian Serie C club Pianese announced they were suffering from the illness.

A statement from the 2.Bundesliga outfit on Wednesday said that Hubers caught the infection while at an event in his hometown of Hildesheim, northern Germany, on Saturday.
Since then, the player has not come into any contact with his teammates but the entire club staff will be tested nonetheless.
Hubers will remain in quarantine in the meantime with Hannover’s media duties cancelled and the club praising their man for responding in a mature manner.
Sporting director Gerhard Zuber told the club website: “Timo behaved in an exemplary manner. He shows no symptoms himself.

“When he found out that a person who had been with him at the event had tested positively, he reported directly to the doctor and temporarily went into quarantine at his home.”
Hubers had only played the last three games for Hannover, scoring in the 3-0 win at Nuremberg, after a nightmare spell on the sidelines.
Serious knee injuries put the centre-back out of action for the entirety of the 2016/17 and 2018/19 seasons, requiring a number of operations.
The owner of Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, Evangelos Marinakis, and former Denmark international Thomas Kahlenberg have also tested positive.
As a result of Marinakis catching coronavirus, the Premier League game between Arsenal and Manchester City on Wednesday night was postponed.
The Greek businessman had been at the Gunners’ Emirates Stadium less than a fortnight ago to watch his Olympiacos side knock them out of the Europa League.
And Arsenal players were placed in quarantine until later this week as a precaution, with Forest confirming tests on their staff came back negative after Marinakis visited their dressing room on Friday.
