All of his three Ann Summers-style outlets – located in and around Hamburg’s notorious Reeperbahn – have stayed open during the Covid-19 crisis.

As well as flogging sex toys and bondage gear, his shops are also well stocked with toilet rolls and numerous cleaning products.

Speaking of his chain – which includes the popular Hustlet Darkside Boutique – Pliquett revealed precautionary measures are in place to stop the spread of the deadly bug.

He said: “We sell all kinds of goods. Next to the sex toys you can find lots of items you could buy in a drugstore, corner shop or supermarket.

“Our employees wanted to carry on working. We have taken all the recommended safety precautions, including distancing from our customers.

“We limit the numbers of people in the shop at any one time, and there is a Perspex screen at the checkout.

“I’ve had a coronavirus test, which came up negative.
