Manchester United and former club Tottenham look to be the front-runners for the 30-year-old.
Real Madrid moved to the top of LaLiga with a 2-1 win at Real Sociedad on Sunday – but it was another Bale didn’t feature in.
He was an unused sub, despite boss Zinedine Zidane making five changes throughout the game.
According to Valdano, who managed Real between 1994-96, this was a sure-fire sign that Zidane has called time on Bale’s career at the Bernabeu.

But the 64-year-old doubts whether the player is that bothered about his lack of match-action.
Speaking to Spanish radio station radio station Onda Cero, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Valdano said: “Zidane needs all of his players involved for these games.
“But that seems to be without Bale, who he has already ruled out.

Bale’s relationship with the fans has also taken a battering in recent times.
The Welshman has endured his fair share of criticism from Los Blancos supporters during a turbulent spell at the Bernabeu.
Despite winning the Champions League on four occasions, including a scoring stunning overhead kick in the final against Liverpool two years ago, Bale’s relationship with supporters has deteriorated.
Failing to learn Spanish, a string of injuries and his love of golf have all been the major contributing factors.
