ROMELU LUKAKU has reportedly been reprimanded by Inter Milan over “misleading” claims that the squad contracted coronavirus in January.
The Belgian striker made the comments in an Instagram live session where he stated that 23 out of 25 players displayed Covid-19 symptoms having returned to training after a week off.

Lukaku, 26, revealed that they went on to play Cagliari despite the squad feeling ill, with centre-back Milan Skriniar forced off after 17 minutes as he passed out.
He even declared that none of the players were tested for coronavirus, as he admitted he will never know if he and his team-mates contracted the deadly bug.
The ex-Manchester United and Chelsea marksman said: “We had a week off in January. We came back and I swear 23 out of 25 players were sick. No joke.
“We played at home against Radja Nainggolan’s Cagliari and after 25 minutes one of our defenders had to leave the field. He couldn’t go on and almost passed out.
“Everyone was coughing and having a fever. It also bothered me. When I warmed up, I got much warmer than usual. I hadn’t had a fever in years.

“After the game there was another dinner with invitees from Puma on the program, but I thanked them and went straight to bed.
“We were never tested for corona at that time, so we will never know for sure.”
According to AS, his commented have angered Inter, with the club speaking to the player about the “misleading and confusing” statement from him.
They state that the Serie A side do not wish to go public in denying the claim made by Lukaku.
It has been said that they understand his comments may have arisen from the weeks of confusion in lockdown with the football season currently postponed.

Lukaku last week showed his support to the Italian health service by donating £88,000, with the country one of the worst-affected nations hit by coronavirus with over 24,000 deaths.
Speaking of his charitable offering, he said: “I contributed 100,000 euros (£88,000) to a hospital in Milan. I’ve never done things like this before, I never thought about it.
“As I get older, the more I realise that I have a platform to help people. I am here in Italy and have been received very well here. It is nice to support the people here.”
