EX-GUNNER Nico Yennaris has been called up to the China national team — marking an historic milestone.
Alongside Brazilian-born pair Elkeson and Aloisio, the Chinese Football Association has selected three naturalised players in the senior international side for the first time.

Yennaris, born in England but with a Chinese mother, had his Chinese citizenship accepted before making his debut last year.
He progressed through the academy for Arsenal before joining Brentford in 2014.
He now plays for Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan.
The naturalised trio are set to take to the field as China — led now by former Everton midfielder Li Tie — prepare for the postponed 2022 World Cup qualifiers due to the coronavirus pandemic.
China are set to play two friendly matches against CSL teams Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai SIPG.
The CSL was scheduled to start on February 22.
Now it looks set to be kicking-off again in late June.
