FLAMENGO boss Jorge Jesus snapped at photographers who crowded him at the airport, saying: “You should’ve caught coronavirus”.

Jesus, 65 – who contracted the killer virus himself – lashed out at the journalists as they crowded him on his arrival in his native Portugal.

With the Brazilian top-flight season suspended, Jesus had hoped for some peace and quiet during his two-week quarantine back home.

He arrived at Lisbon airport wearing a face mask and gloves as a precaution.

But he was left frustrated by the photographers’ lack of common sense as they failed to take any protective measures and got well within the recommended two metres.

After being questioned over and over again, Jesus told the snappers to leave him be.

As they ignored his request, Marca claim he eventually lost his cool and roared: “You should’ve got the virus.”

FRIEND DEATH SHOCK

But Jesus has extra reason for being flustered, having lost a close friend to the illness, as well as having it himself.

Last week, Flamengo revealed Jesus’ battle with coronavirus after vice-president Mauricio Gomes de Mattos contracted the bug.

A club statement said: “Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that the tests to detect the presence of Covid-19 in athletes, coaching staff and employees of the football department were concluded this Monday afternoon (16).

“The club reports that coach Jorge Jesus performed a first test for Covid-19 and the result was a weak or inconclusive positive. The result is being checked.

“The coach is under the care of Flamengo’s medical department and is presently stable.
