And Michy Batshuayi is also expected to leave Stamford Bridge after failing to start a league match this season.
That means Tammy Abraham is the only striker available at the moment.
And Frank Lampard looks certain to spend big before the transfer window closes.
His top target had been Lyon star and former Celtic ace Moussa Dembele.
The French ace, 22, has scored 14 goals in all competitions this season.
But Lyon recently released a statement insisting they have no intention of selling Dembele.
And Lampard could be forced to look elsewhere if he wants to have enough fire power to challenge for a top four finish – as well as the Champions League and FA Cup.
Here, SunSport takes a look at five strikers who Chelsea could sign instead this month.

EDINSON CAVANI – 32 – PSG
URUGUAYAN is out of contract this summer and looks certain to leave Paris after being ousted from the starting XI by Mauro Icardi.
Cavani has featured just eight times in Ligue 1 this season and already has offers from numerous sides including Man Utd and Arsenal.
The poacher has scored 198 goals in 291 games for PSG and would provide Chelsea with the X-Factor currently lacking up top.

DRIES MERTENS – 32 – NAPOLI
BELGIAN is also set to become a free agent at the end of the season after seven years in Naples and he’s already said to be in talks with the Blues.
Maurizio Sarri, who led Chelsea to Europa League glory last year, converted former winger Mertens into a False Nine in the 16/17 campaign.
He has netted 84 times since then but may lack the physicality to cut it in the English game.

KRZYSZTOF PIATEK – 24 – AC MILAN
SUNSPORT understands Spurs have agreed a deal to sign the Poland international.
But Piatek’s move to North London is yet to be confirmed, and Chelsea could attempt a repeat of their Willian hijack by making a late bid for the ace.
Piatek has just four goals in 18 games this season though, and it remains to be seen if he can recapture the form which saw him score 19 goals in 21 goals for former club Genoa.

TIMO WERNER – 23 – RB LEIPZIG
GERMAN is one of the top scorers in Europe this season with 23 goals in all competitions.
Werner is also attracting interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
And Chelsea will have to pay upwards of £68m if they want to secure his signature.

LUKA JOVIC – 22 – REAL MADRID
JOINED Los Blancos for £50m from Eintracht Frankfurt just six months ago.
However, Jovic has scored just one goal at his new club and is struggling for minutes under Zinedine Zidane.
Chelsea were keen on him before Real stepped in last year and could resurrect their interest.
