Ezri Konsa slumps to floor heartbroken after being told last-gasp Aston Villa goal was not awarded to him by Sky Sports

ASTON VILLA star Ezri Konsa slumped to the floor “heartbroken” after finding out he had NOT scored the winner against Watford.

The two sides looked set for a share of the spoils that would do little to aid their battle against relegation.

But in the fifth minute of injury time Konsa lashed the ball home for the winner and his first ever goal for the club.

Or so he thought.

The Premier League confirmed after the game that the goal had been awarded to Tyrone Mings – who was lying after it came off his boot.

When Konsa, who joined Villa from Brentford for £12million last summer, was told by Sky Sports, his pain was clear for all to see.

MINGS THE MATCH-WINNER

Slumping to the floor the 22-year-old muttered: “I’m heartbroken. I’m absolutely heartbroken.”

Then he looked on the bright side, adding: “At least we won.”

Troy Deeney had headed visitors Watford into a 38th-minute lead but substitute Douglas Luiz had levelled things up by capitalising on a rebound.

Then came the late drama that sent Villa Park into raptures.

Konsa was then joined by the ACTUAL match-winner Mings to continue his interview.

Laughing, he continued: “I’m heartbroken – nah I’m joking. We got victory that’s all that matters.”

Mings was then asked who actually scored the goal, replying: “Me, unfortunately.

“It’s cliche to come on here and say that the goal doesn’t matter because the three points is the most important thing.

“But when you got the three points it’s also nice to score – it makes it even sweeter.”

Konsa even posted on social media about the shattering incident, writing: “When you think you’ve scored your first goal for Villa”, before tagging in team-mate Mings.
