Ex-Man Utd flop Memphis Depay issues come and get me plea as Everton and Barcelona plot move for the Lyon forward

EX-MANCHESTER UNITED winger Memphis Depay has issued a come get me plea amid Everton and Barcelona interest.

The Dutchman was integral in Lyon’s charge to last season’s Champions League semi-final and his form has attracted some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Memphis Depay has issued a come get me plea amid interest from Barcelona and Everton

Depay, 26, bagged 15 goals and two assists from 22 games for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions last season.

And he started this campaign with a bang – scoring a hat-trick in Lyon’s 4-1 thrashing of Dijon yesterday.

But after the game he cast doubt over his long term future with the club saying he is not sure if he will complete the season with the Ligue 1 side.

He said: “I do not see the future, I do not know if I will do the full season here.

“I have been here for four years, I became captain.

“After you have to look at your career, there is no Champions League. At the moment I don’t know.

“I’m really happy to have scored three goals today.

“It wasn’t the best game I’ve played but we start the season with three points, and that’s the most important thing.”

Ronald Koeman reportedly wants Depay to replace Luis Suarez at Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are said to be planning a £36million swoop.

Barca are set for an almighty overhaul this summer with more than a dozen players tipped to be sold.

And Koeman is keen to bring in Depay – who he worked with while Holland boss – to replace the Uruguayan.

Depay endured a horrendous spell at United between 2015 and 2017, scoring just twice in 33 Premier League games.

Lyon sporting director Juninho recently admitted he may have to sell his top stars, including Depay, Houssem Aouar and Moussa Dembele.

After Lyon beat Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final last season, Depay hit out at the Etihad outfit.

He took to Instagram and posted an image with the caption: “Manchester is still red.”
