Ex-Liverpool star Emre Can seals £21m Borussia Dortmund transfer… just 18 DAYS after joining from Juventus on loan

EX-LIVERPOOL midfielder Emre Can has made his transfer to Borussia Dortmund permanent… only 18 days after joining on a loan deal.

The German international, 26, has signed for the Bundesliga side from Juventus in a £12million deal.

Can initially left the Old Lady on a deal with an option to buy, which Dortmund have now activated.

The contract will reportedly pay him £160,000 a week, a whopping £100,000 less than he was on at Juventus.

The defensive midfielder’s wage with Juventus saw him become one of the highest paid players at the club, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

Can signed a four-year contract deal with Dortmund, which will see him stay with the club until 2024.

Although, technically, he is still on loan until July 1, he will officially become a Dortmund player after this.

It is thought that Can’s German international team-mate Sami Khedira was a big influence on convincing the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich man to join Juventus.

The midfielder left the Kop for Turin in 2018 on a free transfer. However the signings of other midfielders Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey meant his place in the starting line-up was far from secure.

Can made his debut while on loan for Dortmund on February 8, against his former club Bayer Leverkusen.

Although Lucien Favre’s lost the match 4-3, Can was picked as a stand-out player, scoring a 30-yard stunner in the match.

Can is no stranger to wonder goals, with his overhead kick against Watford in the 2016/17 season winning him the Premier League Goal of the Season.

Before the permanent move to Dortmund, the German was linked to a move back to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Everton both showing interest.
