Thanks for joining us this afternoon.

Don’t forget to check out our match report here.

  • TABLE MANNERS

Here’s how the table looks after United’s win.

  • FOLLOW THE LEADER

The Manchester United captain has come under fire recently, but he was impressive today.

  • EVER HOPEFUL

Asked about Mason Holgate’s first game of the season, Carlo Ancelotti says: “It wasn’t a gamble, but he didn’t play well.

“Defensively we didn’t play well, but it’s not only the problem of the defenders.

“When you don’t defend well you have to focus on the whole team, not just one defender.”

Ancelotti was asked about the fact that he hasn’t lost three league games in a row since 2006, he says: “”It’s difficult territory but I know how to manage difficult times.

“I hope that after the international break we’ll have players back without injuries and we can start the season well again.”

  • DEBRIEF

Carlo Ancelotti says: “I think the performance was good, but they scored two goals easily and took advantage, they made the game difficult.

“If we played the first half like we did in the second, we could have a different result

“We said before the game we have to defend better, but we didn’t.

“We were slow and gave them too many opportunities, we have to improve.

“Unfortunately it’s not a good period, as we have had three defeats. Hopefully after the international break we will be better.”

  • NOT GUNNAR HAPPEN

Ole Gunnar Solskjær didn’t want to be drawn into talking about his win, instead he used the interview to blast the authorities.

When asked about injuries that his side are dealing with, he added: “Mason wasn’t feeling well last night, so he couldn’t travel.

“Luke looks like he’s done a hamstring which could be a long one.

“Rashford’s struggling with his shoulder- these are the demands on the players.”

  • DEMANDING

Despite winning today, Ole Gunnar Solskjær was incredibly frustrated in his post-match interview.

Speaking on BY Sport, he says: “Shaw got injured today, because we went to Turkey Wednesday night, got back early Thursday morning, and are playing Saturday- it’s shambles.

“I can’t praise the boys enough for today, but they were set up to fail

“The authorities set us up to fail!

“How can we play on Wednesday night and then have to play again on Saturday?

“We have had enough. We have to understand how these players play during these times, let alone during a pandemic, it’s draining mentally and physically and now we’ve lost Luke Shaw because of this.

“We should have been set up on a Sunday, it’s a joke.”

  • GAME SET MATCH

    Here’s United’s third goal..

  • STICKY TOFFEE

Three consecutive losses for Everton breaks a 14 year record for their boss.

Carlo Ancelotti has not lost three league games in a row since November 2006 with AC Milan.

  • PORT OF VIEW

On the attitude of his team-mates, Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes says: “We know what we have to do inside the dressing room, everyone has to be a leader.

“Some need to be a leader with their actions, others by talking.

“But the point is, we did it and got the three points at the end of the game.

“The points are for everyone not just one player.”

  • MAN OF THE MATCH

In a game when Ole Gunnar Solskjær really needed a win, his side delivered.

On the second goal, Bruno Fernandes says “I don’t care who scored it, if Marcus touched it a little bit then it can be his goal- no problem for me.

“Most important for me as a number ten is serving my team-mates, as I did for Edi.

“I had the chance to shoot, and maybe get a hattrick, but I saw Edi alone and he had the chance.”
