England trio Chilwell, Sancho and Abraham will miss Wales clash after breaking Covid-19 rules at party

ENGLAND have blocked three players from linking up on international duty.

Ben Chilwell, Tammy Abraham and Jadon Sancho will miss the Wales clash after being told stay away from St George’s Park for five days as a precaution after they attended a party on Saturday – as revealed by SunSport.

Furious Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has ordered an investigation into the surprise 23rd birthday bash for Chelsea ace Abraham, which broke the government’s rule of six law.

The trio have taken coronavirus tests and will now have to wait to be allowed back into the England camp.

England play Wales on Thursday followed by matches against Belgium and Denmark.

Raheem Sterling – who played all 90 minutes and scored in Man City’s 1-1 draw with Leeds on Saturday – will miss all three matches due to an injury while Chelsea right-back Reece James has been called up.

In a statement, the FA said: “England men’s senior squad has assembled at St. George’s Park ahead of the forthcoming fixtures against Wales, Belgium and Denmark.

“However, as a precaution to understand if there is any risk to the wider group, the arrival of Tammy Abraham, Ben Chilwell and Jadon Sancho will be delayed. This is to allow time to gather further information of a social gathering that all three players reportedly attended over the weekend.

“Separately, Raheem Sterling has been ruled out of all three fixtures through injury.”

There appeared to be little social distancing at the party, held at Abraham’s London mansion after Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

One reveller said: “It was a great party. We wanted to do something nice for his birthday. But maybe we didn’t think it through.”

Coronavirus laws ban people from mixing in groups of more than six, with fines of up to £10,000.

One video circulated on social media shows Chilwell, 23, laughing with team-mate Abraham after spotting him chatting to a blonde.

Striker Abraham is filmed alongside his girlfriend, Leah Monroe, as a group of about 20 sing Happy Birthday.

Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho, 20, Manchester United’s top transfer target, is seen with a mask around his chin and dancing in a crowd.

The winger has issued an apology via his Instagram story – vowing to “learn from” his mistake.

He posted: “I would like to apologise for breaking the government guidelines and although I was unaware upon arriving of the numbers attending, I take full responsibility for my actions.

“I will make sure moving forward that I learn from this.”

This is the latest headache for boss Southgate.

Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood were last month sent home from England duty in disgrace after bringing two Icelandic beauties into their hotel room.
