A listener, called Ally, asked if footballers got erections in games like WWE star John Cena, who admitted to an “accidental boner” while fighting The Undertaker.

Crouchy, 38, said: “No, I’ve not [had a boner during a match]. When you are so concentrated on a match I don’t think it does!” But he added: “When you are getting your leg checked by the physio — I mean, that’s a different ball game.

“Well, your mind can wander when you’re just on the physio bed, can’t it? That has happened to me.”

Peter went on: “I have felt penises on the pitch.

“You grab things when you are holding players off.”
